Ever notice the vacant look in someone’s eyes when you share what you do? Sigh, I have.
It’s so easy to default to a common label or industry jargon when describing what we do. Are these familiar?
- I’m an Accountant
- I’m in Insurance
- I’m a Lawyer
- I’m a Financial Planner
- I’m a Mortgage Broker
- I’m a Realtor
- I’m an Investment Advisor
- I’m a Business Coach
- I do PR
- I’m a Marketer
And the last on the list is where I land!
One networking group I attend gives only 20 seconds to introduce myself. That’s not long!
20 seconds goes quickly, and I typically introduce myself as a “strategic marketer”. So, what the heck does that mean in a room with business coaches, graphic designers, web developers, plus accountants, lawyers, realtors and mortgage brokers?
So, I’ve been thinking about it and came up with this…
Strategic marketing is like setting the table for a dinner party. Who do you invite? What time and day is best for them? Is it a backyard BBQ or a formal event with candles and fine china? Is it an intimate small group or a lively large group conversation? What will you talk about?
A marketing strategy creates a clear, compelling, and repeatable right-fit experience for attracting powerful conversations with your right-fit prospects and clients.
We’re here to help you be clear, comfortable and authentic, attracting your ideal client to your dinner party, er I mean, business.
