Transitions can be difficult, since we don’t always know what to expect and may feel unsure of our success.
In this month’s newsletter and blog, we look at how to manage uncertainty to create the success we’ve set our sights on.
Here's one example:
Set small goals
When starting or leading any new endeavour, it takes time to figure out the most efficient way to do the tasks required. You might have to use skills that are new or that you haven’t used recently. As my coach says, "It's not the task that feels heavy, it's the resistance to the task." Take it easy on yourself. Break it down into small, manageable pieces, so you’re not overwhelmed.
Everyone's Kolbe MO plays a factor here. If you're not familiar with Kolbe, it's an invaluable tool to become clear on how you are naturally driven to take action. As a Kolbe Certified Consultant, I love sharing the power of Kolbe for individuals and teams. Look for that topic in a future post!

This topic was inspired by the experience of our newest team member, Chris Sebastian. She joined Impagination as an intern and has grown into a valued team player. Chris shares her first impressions, a true reflection of what we intend for all our clients, team and community.
Chris, what did you expect when you joined Impagination?
“When starting a new role or taking on new responsibilities, there is always some level of uncertainty. The best feeling ever is to be pleasantly surprised. Being a part of Impagination was one such experience. Here are a few things you can expect when working with or alongside Laural Carr and the Impagination team:
- “You can expect the unexpected in terms of learning new things, exploring exciting opportunities, and having permission to grow.
- “A company’s culture strongly impacts morale, curiosity, and engagement; and it makes all the difference when co-creating satisfaction for all.
- “Working with a leader and a mentor offers huge value. As Canadian self-help author and lecturer Bob Proctor explains: ‘A mentor is someone who sees more talent and ability within you than you see in yourself, and helps bring it out of you.’

“This is what I experienced at Impagination, where clients and team members are valued and treated with respect; where everyone focuses on growth with ease and feels part of an exceptional community.”
