My audio book conversion
I’ve always loved books. But the literary escape and ongoing learning they provide was colliding with my desire to de-clutter and minimize… and books take up space! 📚

I was intrigued hearing the experience of colleagues who were enjoying audio books. One of them kindly gifted me three audio book credits to try out. 🎁

It was awkward at first. I missed the feel of a book, the ability to fold a corner, or mark a page. Being visual, I enjoyed seeing a vivid turn of phrase on the page that would leave an indelible impression. I wondered I would experience through a book delivered by a narrator’s voice. 🎤

My stretch goal
To truly embrace my desired goal, I had to fully commit to audio books – so I set a goal of “consuming” one per month. (BTW, does someone have a better word for audio book “reading”?) 🤔

The first month was uncomfortable, much like any new undertaking. I reached out to my audio book fans for advice. With their insights and enthusiasm, I eventually cracked the secret to really enjoying my monthly audio-read.
