Q4 is here, and in spite of the impact of the “fourth wave”, we have a lot to be optimistic about. The sales cycle is picking up again, and economic conditions in Canada are expected to grow by 3.8% in 2022. This is the right time to ask, “What will 2022 look like for my business?” … and to start putting the building blocks and team in place to optimize growth next year.
This calls for a proactive, as opposed to a reactive, approach. It means accepting the things that can’t be controlled while taking charge of what can and focusing your time and energy on growth.
In fact, what you’re doing is reacting ahead of time. You see what’s coming, and you find yourself easily identifying new ways to deal with potential challenges before they emerge. Steven Covey, in his book The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People, writes about anticipating change and taking charge in advance. As he puts it, "If the weather is good, reactive people feel good. Proactive people carry their own weather.
